Farrow And Ball Dead Flat Emulsion Review
I decided to use this Dead Flat Farrow and Ball Emulsion for a hall/ stairs and landing and I wanted something that was a matt finish but can stand alot of traffic.
The wall had MDF panels put on so this was ideal as it's for ceilings/ walls/ woodwork and radiators.
with the trend being everything in the one colour this is a must as its scrubbable and has a lovely matt finish so it saves you on buying the Estate Eggshell for the woodwork.
It's about £120 for a 5 litre so not the cheapest but will last a long time.

How To Stain A Faded Compostie Door

had this faded mahogany composite door to decorate tand bing it back to life to look like new. Sometimes the pigment used in composite doors can fade over years due to the sunlight etc. I decided to key it with a 120 grit sandpad then use 2 to 3 coats of waterbased exterior mahogany stain in a satin finish. I did a scratch test after the first coat and it stuck and bonded to the composite surfa...

How To Store A Wet Roller Sleeve Without Using A Bag Or Washing It Out

Been using this on a customers hall, stairs and landing recently and I was pleasantly surprised. The opacity was excellent and covered for 2 but I did ease it up a little as I found it a bit thick and scratchy if that makes sense? Also dries a bit urgent so just watch out for that when it comes to keeping that wet edge going. I'd definitely use it again but for the cost per gallon, I'd say dulux heritage is a better bet. 👍

Brilliant reviews…I went with the Tikkurila primer and Optiva 3 for my lounge based on your reviews. Just did the primer, found that it can drag a little initially, but that could be down to my technique as I’m not a decorator but a diy’er. So I adjusted a little and it was fine going on. I didn’t water it down though and put it on neat. Optiva 3 top coats tomorow. Do you ever sand between any of your coats like some decorators recommend??

Hi Daniel, I used it a couple of weeks ago after recommending it to my customer. Unfortunately they had me paint the whole room in the inchyra blue modern emulsion before realising it's the wrong sheen level for a lounge really so I went over it again in the dead flat - including the woodwork! Great stuff to work with really. People are right, Estate emulsion is a nightmare for marking etc but what they don't realise ( and customer won't pay for ) is that you are supposed to use a F&B primer underneath first!
